Dorothy Jean Greenlee passed away August 10, 2012, in her home in Sun City, Arizona at the age of 89. She was born October 20, 1922 on the family farm near Beaver Creek, Minnesota. Dorothy was the daughter of Frank A. Dunn and Winifred Argo Dunn. She grew up in Hills, Minnesota, and attended college at the University of Colorado. Dorothy married Delbert O. Greenlee on October 20, 1946 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where they raised four children. The Greenlees were longtime members of the First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls. Dorothy served as Den Mother for the Cub Scouts in Pack 23. She was a 50+ year member of PEO in Sioux Falls SD, Spencer Iowa, and Sun City AZ, and served as President of PEO Chapter A in Sun City, AZ from 1990-1992. Dorothy loved music and especially loved to sing. Before she was married, she joined up with Irene Biste (Kvien) and Phyllis Scholseth (Dobson) to form the “Three Tones”, a trio who toured the local area, sometimes in the company of Myron Floren, an accordionist of Lawrence Welk fame. Later in her life, she and her Arizona friends formed the “Sundames”, an octet (double barbershop quartet), who sang in various venues in Sun City and the surrounding area. Dorothy loved to play golf and managed to ace four “holes in one” in her lifetime. She kept herself in shape by playing golf several times per week and religiously swam laps in her pool. She was a Phoenix Suns basketball fan, and rarely missed their games on TV. Dorothy is survived by her husband Del, 90, of Sun City, and four children Jeff Greenlee of Phoenix AZ; Dave Greenlee (wife Sue) of Garretson, SD; Mike Greenlee of Colton SD; and Laura Greenlee of Hendersonville, NC.
