Doris Trotter

Doris Mae Trotter, aged 96 years, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The daughter of Emma and Walter Abendroth, Doris graduated from Markesan High School in Markesan, Wisconsin. After graduating in 1936 from St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, Doris joined the Navy Nurse Corps. Of many assignments, Doris served at the U.S. Naval Hospitals in San Diego, California, Treasure Island in San Francisco, California, and at Pearle Harbor, Hawaii soon after its’ bombing. She later became a Nurse at the Veteran’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona where she retired in 1972. Doris is survived by her only child, Jacquelynn Accomazzo, two grandsons, Wade (Stacy) and great grandchildren Dominic, Nicholas and Mia of Litchfield Park, Arizona and Scott (Tiffany) and great grandchild Colton of Stephenville, Texas. Doris was preceded in death by her son-in-law Jimmy Accomazzo, and her sister, Arvilla Dunsmoor. A memorial Service will be held on May 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 400 S. Old Litchfield Road, Litchfield Park, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Doris to your favorite Veterans organization.
