Our sweet, beautiful mother, Doris Domasco, passed away on June 6, 2019 at the age of 90. She was mother to Valorie Everton-Barnett and Georgia Franko and their husbands, Paul Franko and Michael Barnett. She cherished her granddaughters, Chelsea Franko Inglis, husband Keith, Katie Everton Trevett, husband Nick and Alissa Franko. She was great grandmother to Hannah and Tyler Trevett and Jake Miche, who had the good fortune to know her well. She is survived by one sister, Geraldine Mauro of Klamath Falls, OR, and sister in law, Marlene McLees of Camano Island, WA as well as several nieces and nephews.
Doris was born in Bozeman, MT on September 20, 1928. She attended several elementary schools in Gallatin County and graduated high school in Manhattan, MT. Doris was introduced to George Domasco by her best friend and they married on October 4, 1947. Georgia was born in 1950 when they lived in Trident, MT and Valorie in 1953 when the family lived in Three Forks, MT. In 1956, they moved to Big Timber, MT and spent the next 25 years there. Doris worked at First Citizens Bank and then for the Treasure State Telephone Company in Big Timber. Doris was involved in many activities including Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, First Congregational Church, Girl Scouts and others we may not remember. She was always ready with her cream pies for any event in town.
George and Doris moved to Arizona where Doris continued work for ConTel for several years. Upon retirement, she loved to play bridge several times a week and to entertain her many friends from Arizona and the “snow birds” from Montana. She and George traveled up north for summers in the mid 80’s and 90’s.
Doris was preceded in death by George in 2013. She could be heard many times saying how much she missed him. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, John Everton whom she loved dearly. In her last three years, Doris was lovingly cared for by Valeria and Steve Nemes and staff in their care home in Peoria, AZ. The family is forever indebted to them for their expert care and support
Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel in Sun City, AZ.
