December 31, 1969 — April 14, 2009

DONALD TAYLOR WILLIAMS Donald T. Wiliiams, 77, passed away April 14, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ under the care of Hospice of Arizona with his two daughters at his side. Don was born April 17, 1931 in Phoenix, AZ He graduated from Glendale AZ High School in 1950 and served in the USAF at Luke Air Force Base from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. In 1954 he married Jeany and they had two daughters, Dawn and Kim. Don farmed in and around the Buckeye, AZ area and worked as a chemical/fertilizer salesman until he moved to Blythe in 1967. He originally came to Blythe for a 90-day job, working for Desert Ginning Co., and their customers as a "bug man". He ended up staying for 42 years. In 1971 he formed a partnership with Tom and Chuck Robinson and Larry Augusta to form The Arrow Company. In that time he farmed all over the valley and grew cotton, alfalfa, wheat, tomatoes, melons, soybeans, lettuce and peaches. He also pastured cattle and sheep. He will best be remembered for his love of farming, fishing and the outdoors; his memory of people, places and events; his dry sense of humor and his ability to tell a story; and his enjoyment of attending "The Meeting" with his friends everyday at 3:00 at the coffee shop. The generosity and honesty of his spirit touched many lives and he will be missed. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lack B. and Elma Faye Williams, and by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Jeany. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn and Kim granddaughters Kayde and Allison, grandson-in-law Josh, sister Wanda John Shawver and his much loved pets, Ginger Ann, Jeffrey Walter and Miss Kitty. A Memorial Service will be held at the Community United Methodist Church of Blythe, 345 E. Barnard, Blythe, CA on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. A fellowship gathering will be held immediately following in the church's multi-purpose room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Palo Verde Hospital Auxiliary, 250 N.
