Donald (Don) Doyle

December 3, 1933 — December 21, 2020

Donald E. (Don) Doyle On Monday, December 21, 2020, Donald Doyle, loving husband, father, and Pop-Pop passed away at the age of 87. Donald is survived by his wife Joy, sons Steven (wife Anya), David (wife Erica; children Elise and Laura), Richard, and his daughter Valerie (husband Steven), along with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins, too many to list, but not forgotten. Donald was a remarkable musician and poet. His gift as a pianist blessed all who heard him play throughout his life. He served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1957, serving in Europe. Later he started his own company, Cinereel, in the early 1970's and later sold it to his partner due to painful health issues. Undeterred he went on to invest in real estate which proved lucrative and sustained his family after he sold his business. Donald and his wife joy loved taking long drives together and visited many points of interest throughout the western United States. As their family grew their drives turned into vacations where the family would camp in their tent-trailer. Those trips were a precious gift his wife and children will never forget. Donald had many interests - playing the piano, sports, philosophy, politics - and he loved to play cards, especially poker. He was a father-figure to many of his children's' friends who would visit their home on a constant basis. He loved company and extended hospitality to all. During his retirement he would be visited by his granddaughters who grew up seeing their Pop-Pop frequently. Later Don and his wife moved to Arizona to be near his family in his twilight years. He died at home surrounded by his wife and children as he wanted it. Donald was a wonderful husband, father, Pop-Pop and friend. He treated everyone with respect and kindness and was loved by all who knew him. Our loss cannot be measured. A private service will be held at Menke Funeral Home on February 6, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, his favorite charity.
