Diane R. Van Dreel, 75, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on November 22, 2019. Diane was born in Sturgeon Bay to Roy and Dorothy (Schaefer) Meissner. Diane graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1961. She then went on to graduate from Wisconsin School of Cosmetology where she later taught. Diane married Russell Van Dreel and celebrated 50 years of marriage. They lived in De Pere many years before moving to AZ. Diane and her husband owned and operated Russ and Diane’s Bowling and Bar in Krakow for several years. Diane then went on to own and operate her own beauty salons until retirement. She later took up crafting and floral design with her aunt Ramona and later traveled with her husband promoting her own craft shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Meissner, father and mother-in-law, George and Genevieve Van Dreel, stepsons, baby Russell, Jr. and Steven Van Dreel, sister, Dolores Swetlik, brothers-in-law, Donald and Gordon Van Dreel, special aunt, Ramona Wiegand, and nephews, Mark Swetlik and Marshall Meissner.
Diane leaves behind her husband, Russell Van Dreel and stepchildren, Brett (Ann Marie) and Vicki Van Dreel, step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Sami Jo, Anthony, Justin, and Stephen, and four step-great-grandchildren. She will me missed by her siblings, Chris (Logan) Naidoo, Greg (Marsha), and John (Tron) Meissner, sister-in-law, Arlene, and brother-in-law, John (Kathy) Van Dreel, special niece, Terri Garafalo, great-nephew, James Garafalo, nephew, Gary (Becky) Van Dreel, and many other special nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and devoted companion, Tucker.
A gathering will be held on Dec. 11, 2019, from 9-11 a.m., followed by a memorial ceremony at Sepia Chapel, 3562 Finger Rd., Green Bay.
