Denis Wittry

Denis Joseph Wittry July 2021 With heavy hearts, the Wittry family has lost their loving husband and father, Denis Wittry. Preceded in death by brother John (Jack) Wittry, grandparents Mary Ellen and Joseph O’Connor, father Elmer Wittry, mother Kathryn Dobrath, stepfather Charles (Coach) Dobrath, aunt Frances O’Connor, father-in-law Patrick Treacy, and cousins Peg & Mike O’Connor. Denis was born in Chicago, moved to Des Plaines and Elgin, IL. Upon graduating Viator High School, he attended St. Mary College, Harper and Elgin Community Junior Colleges. He proudly apprenticed and graduated from the Tool & Die Institute and worked 40 years in the trade. Upon retirement, he relocated to Arizona. Denis enjoyed cooking, boating, jokes, fishing, friends, and The Bears. Denis cared for everyone; Union Steward, President & VP of condo association, loving guardian and advocate to all his loved ones who suffered losses or were in need. Denis is survived by loving wife Debbie (Treacy), proud father of Patrick (Joy), granddaughter Phiala, and proud father of Brendan (Maggie). A desert tree will be planted in his honor by the neighborhood association. Burial is private.
