David E. Deppen, 81, of Sun City passed away April 15, 2018. Born March 28, 1937 to Earle and Leona (Striggow) Deppen. He graduated from the University of Toledo in 1959 and began a 40 ½ years teaching career with Bedford public Schools in Michigan; he retired in 2000, where he was chairman of the English department. After his retirement he and his wife Barbara (Long) relocated to Mountain Home, ID. After her death in 2006 he moved to Sun City, AZ. David reconnected with a longtime friend, Connie Wert. They began a new chapter in their lives and traveled the world together; David was also an avid reader and golfer. He volunteered at Banner Boswell Hospital each Friday, driving patients and visitors from their cars to the hospital entrance. David is survived by children Craig (Becky), Amy (Neil) Miller, Jennifer (Scott) Patay, Brian (Kami), sister Earleen (Stephen) Perlaky of NC. 20 grandchildren, 26, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and his very special friend, Connie Wert.
