Daniel James Sugrue, 76, formerly of Westwood, died April 25, at his home in Surprise, AZ where he had lived the "good life" for 8 wonderful years. Mr. Sugrue was born August 23, 1935, in Dedham, MA, to John and Ellen (Foley) Sugrue. He graduated from Dedham High School and Northeastern University. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane Ryan Sugrue, his brother James and his wife, Sheila, of Franklin, and sister, Katherine (Kay) Gleason of Canton. He was preceded in death by brother John (Jack) of Dedham. He adored his children: Daniel J. Jr., of Brighton, Erin DiVincenzo and her husband, John, of Fairport, NY, David and his wife Tomoko, of NJ, and five grandchildren. He leaves many loving nieces and nephews. Dan was a long time member of Wampatuck Country Club, enjoying his lifelong passion, the game of golf. He continued to enjoy the game in AZ, playing "through" until a few weeks before succumbing to pancreatic cancer. He was blessed with many true friends who gave him much joy throughout his life. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 2 pm at Prince of Peace Church in Sun City West, AZ. A celebration of life will be held this summer at a date to be determined.
