Dale Michael Walters of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Dec. 7 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Dale was born Oct. 6, 1951 in Scranton, Pa. to Helen Walter. Dale graduated from Scranton Technical High School. Shortly after high school, he spent six years in the United States Army in both active duty and reserves. Dale worked for Scranton’s Department of Public Safety in the street lighting department and as a truck driver for Air Delivery Service.
Dale is survived by Mary Baryla Walters, his wife of 44 years; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, two nieces, their families and several cousins.
Dale and Mary moved to Arizona in 1986 where he worked at Fluoresco Lighting for a short time, then returned to driving trucks of various sizes locally for Overnite Transportation, which was later bought by UPS Freight.
A service will be held at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Jan 19, 2024 at 12:30 p.m.
