Spitler, Clarence Robert 87, of Glendale, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Jan. 24th, 2009. He was born on March 16th, 1921 in Corning, CA but moved to Glendale to attend and graduate from Glendale High School. There he met the love of his life, Betty Bennett, and they married on July 2, 1942, before he left to serve his country in WW II in the U.S. Navy. Clarence was an electrical contractor for over 40 years, owning his own company in Phoenix. He ended his career working on the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant. He was a member of the IBEW and the Glendale Historical Society. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, reading, tennis, traveling - anything in the outdoors. Missing him dearly are his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty, daughters Linda Christy and husband Ted, and Vicki Resch, and husband John, and remembered by his brother, Herb. He really enjoyed his grandchildren, Scott, Kimberly, Jennifer, Paul, and Courtney and great-grandchildren, Tatum, Chase, Gabriel, Emily, Samantha, and Alexander. He was our hero! Visitation will take place on Wed., Jan. 28th at 9:00 A.M. with a celebration of his life following at 11:00 A.M. Services and a reception will be at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to West Valley Child Crisis Center, P.O.
