Christopher Lyons

Christopher Edward Lyons gained eternal rest Saturday, September 17, 2022 in the presence of his loving wife and daughters. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. To his family, he was affectionately known as "Papa". Chris was born on January 8, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Eddie and Rodena Lyons. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vera A. (Waechter) Lyons and his three daughters, Christie DeSpain of Nolensville, TN, Deanna Jergenson of Glendale, AZ, and Rae Lyons of Peoria, AZ as well as six grandchildren and one grand-dog. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters. Chris was preceded in death by this parents and brother. Chris was a long time resident of Arizona. He enjoyed spending his summers at his cabin in Flagstaff. Chris was a man of many projects. At any given time, you could find him woodworking in the garage or making things on his 3-D printer. He loved to travel with his wife. Many of their adventures included cross country Harley rides, rafting down rivers, and visiting as many national parks as possible. Chris was also a proud Eagle scout. Chris was an expert computer engineer and was very knowledgeable in his field. He retired after 33 years. He was very proud of the fact that he created software that is still used in the banking industry today. Visitation will be 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday September 26, 2022, at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday September 27, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Dr., Sun City, Arizona. Interment to follow at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery. Please send any floral expressions to Menke Funeral & Cremation Center.
