CHARLES L. FIELDS 1936 – 2024
He will always be remembered by his family Kim Fields, Jackie Kelley, Cheryl Shisler and Tom McCarthy, his brother Johns’ family in Australia including all the family members and his many friends from Sun CityWest, AZ and Massachusetts.
Charles aka Charlie was born on the island of Rockport / Gloucester, Mass known as the Cape Ann area. He worked his way through High School at Roy Moore Lobster Company and played baseball, that earned him a scholarship to Duke University in North Carolina. Changing directions he graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 1958. Starting his career as a banana boat engineer while traveling the world, until opening and operating the New England Lobster Company on Pigeon Cove Wharf in Rockport 1965-1995.
Other endeavors included part owner of a marina in Essex, a chicken hatchery manager and pursuing his passions as an author of 7 books, countless poems beginning as a young man, sculptor, and traveler. He was a member of the Rockport Art Association, North Shore Arts Association and the New England Sculptor Association.
Charles experienced life to the fullest and was truly loved throughout his life!
