Cathryn L. Swier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend entered into the presence of our Lord on Saturday, September 29 at the age of 90. Cash was born in Fairview, South Dakota, January 26, 1928 to Henry and Martha Harmelink. There she was a member of Colton First Reformed Church. On June 19, 1948 she married Richard A. Swier. They were married for 67 years. They owned and operated successful business in Colton, South Dakota and Phoenix, Arizona. Their famous motto was “To get ‘Rich’ call “Cash”. She loved playing cards, golf, entertaining, hosting hymn sings, and writing a collection of poems on special people in her life and various subjects of interest. She loved her Lord and Savior and served and trusted Him with all her heart and learned to lean not unto her own understanding. She is survived by her son, Dan (&Kathy) Swier, daughter-in-law, Susette Swier, son Bob (&Deb) Swier, daughter, Kristine (&Jack) Pitrat, son, Rick Swier, daughter, Kathy (&Burl) Seaton, 13 grandchildren-Tracey, Chad, Ryan, Briana, Derrick, Jenny, Casey, Travis, Kate, Sam, Hadley, Nikki and great grandchildren. Our family is a circle of love and strength. With every birth and every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love. Every memory together, makes the circle stronger. Cash was preceded in death by her husband, Rich, two sons, Bill and Martin and her parents.
Services will be held at West Valley Christian Fellowship, 12649 N. 105th Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351 on Saturday, October 6th, viewing 9:30-10:30 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and luncheon to follow. She will be laid to rest at the Colton Cemetery in Colton, South Dakota. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested the West Valley Christian Fellowship.
