Catherine Sutton

Catherine Elizabeth Sutton, a native of Phoenix, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday November 26th. She was 81. The core of her life was God and her family. As a mother of eight children, her life was full, yet was active in her church and community. She taught Sunday school and volunteered in the church office. She participated in the PTA and served on a school board. She actively provided support to farming concerns, water conservation issues, political campaigns, and several local charities. She led by example, imparting a positive focus on her family, friends, and all who knew her. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Cal A. Sutton and is survived by her children: Delbert L. Blake, James E. Blake, Camille Sutton, Scott W. Sutton, Mark B. Sutton, Cal R. Sutton, Virginia R. Jimenez, and Steven D. Sutton. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday December 2nd at 1:00 PM at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N 103rd Ave, Sun City. Donations in her memory to the Baptist Village-Youngtown Chaplain’s Fund, 11315 W. Peoria Ave., Youngtown, AZ 85363 or to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 would be welcome.
