Catherine Lancour

Catherine Therese Martin Lancour 86, passed away March 1, 2017 at Sun View Estates Home Care in Surprise, AZ. She was a resident of Sun City West, AZ since November 1995. She was born March 30, 1930, at Advance, MO; daughter of Anna Schonhoff Martin and Albert Martin who are deceased. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School of Cape Girardeau, MO and Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with a BS and Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. She married Charles Robert Lancour August 25, 1973 at St. Robert’s Church in Shorewood, WI. Catherine is survived by two sisters and one brother: Martha Martin of Surprise, AZ, Mary Wubker of O’Fallon, MO and C.A. Martin and wife Wilma of Advance, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Catherine Lancour was a college nursing instructor for all of her adult life, starting in 1960 for 33 years. She taught at St. Joseph Hospital, Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, UWM School of Nursing and Alverno College School of Nursing all of Milwaukee, WI and Columbia/Carroll College School of Nursing of Waukesha, WI from where she retired from her Nursing Teaching Profession in June of 1993. She loved teaching and her students, and enjoyed every day she spent in her classrooms and she always had a beautiful smile for everybody she met especially her husband Chuck. After her retirement, she and her husband spent their time traveling and their best vacation was time spent of the Island of Hawaii and boating, fishing, dancing and visiting family and friends. She was a member of Prince of Peace Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parish in Sun City West, AZ. Also, a member of the Sun City Elks Club. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2017, at Menke Funeral Cremation Center Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.
