Carolyn V. Serynek, born in Indiana in December 1942 and passed away on Friday, July 1st at Freedom Plaza, as the result of a car accident. Carolyn lived in Gary, Indiana, moved to Sacramento, California, where she worked for the Department of Defense, McClellan AFB as an aircraft mechanic; she had her own ranch with horses, and served on the Sheriff’s Posse. She moved to Arizona in 1997 to care for her father. Carolyn is predeceased by her parents Henry Serynek, Sr., Jane (Rutka) Serynek, her sister-in-law Marianna Serynek, and her nephew, Robert Serynek. She is survived by her son Daniel Minnati (Marti Lord), grandson Elijah Lord Minnati, her brothers Henry, Jr., Walter, and Richard (Lucinda), and her nieces Renee, Debbie, Diane and Cindy, nephews, Henry C., Robby, and Richard, and her friend and faithful companion, Zippity Dog. She is also survived by many friends at the Life Stream Community where she resided, and the members of the various ministries in which she served at the Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne, Sun City, Arizona. Visitation will be on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center 12420 N. 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona 85351. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Catholic Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne, 11625 N. 111th Avenue, Sun City, AZ 85351 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. A reception will be held in St. Anne’s Hall at the church immediately following the funeral Mass.
