Carol Ann Watson, cherished mother, dedicated volunteer, and vivacious spirit left this world on February 11, 2025, just shy of her 93rd birthday. Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 20, 1932, to Richard "Rocco" Racana and Sue Mayfield (Felice), Carol embodied the vibrant energy and warmth that touched the lives of all who were fortunate to know her.

A proud graduate of the Notre Dame School for Girls in Chicago, she embarked on a journey that combined her passions for caring for others and embracing life’s joys. Her most fulfilling career as a hospital volunteer in labor and delivery paved the way for her role as an office manager and medical assistant for an obstetrician/gynecologist. Carol took immense pride in being a part of the joyous beginnings of countless families, helping to bring new life into the world.

Outside her professional endeavors, Carol was a self-proclaimed fashionista, captivating everyone with her keen sense of style and lively personality. She had a love for poker, relishing the thrill of the game with friends and family. A member of the Red Hat Society, she eventually rose to the esteemed title of Queen of the Red Hat Hussies, embracing the spirit of friendship and fun that defined her character.

Her passion for connecting with her heritage led her into the fascinating world of genealogy, where she tirelessly traced her roots back to Cosenza, Italy. This pursuit not only enriched her own understanding of her family history but also brought her closer to her loved ones, sharing stories and traditions that would be cherished for generations to come.

Carol is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Clark; and her dear cousins, John Masi and Barbara Paradise. The legacy she leaves behind is one of joy, laughter, and a reminder to celebrate every moment. Though her physical presence may have departed, her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those she adored.

As we gather to remember Carol, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, filled with compassion, humor, and an unwavering zest for life. Her memory will remain a guiding light and a source of inspiration for all who were privileged to have known her.
