Carl E Standifer Jr. was born in Coffeyville, KS on November 10, 1946, and passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of May 21, 2022. The son of the late Carl E. Standifer Sr. and the late Wilhelmina Standifer. Carl was preceded in death, not only by his parents but by his siblings Glen M. Standifer, Priscilla D. Hubbard (Deanie), and Ethelynn D. Munford.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene A. Standifer; his siblings Delbert Standifer, Thelma L. Standifer (Vernie), Fred Wilson (Cokey), Andrea R. Hines (Gail), James K. Hewitt (Kardiel), Varnado Standifer; his daughters Carla L. Standifer, Kristina M. Williams, Deanna M. Sumler; grandchildren John M. Standifer Jenkins Jr., Isaiah M. Castillo, Kayla K. Castillo, Khalifi R.G. Din; great grandchildren Jaleel M. Jenkins and Aaliyah R. Jenkins along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carl was a hard-working man who could fix almost anything. For close to 30 years, he worked in general construction with the Northern California Laborers Union until he retired in 2004. Carl stayed active after retirement and became a security guard for Allied Universal Security. In October 2021, he left Allied and focused his attention on the care of the love of his life and wife, Darlene, whom he married on Valentine's Day 1998. They went on vacations and cruises over their 24 years of marriage and shared many special moments together.
Carl will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. All who knew him might describe him as a man's man. A man who knew how to dress sharp. A man who said what he meant and meant what he said. He worked hard, loved hard, and fought hard, but now it's time for him to rest easy.
A visitation will be held at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Avenue, on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 12:00 PM with a service to follow at 1:00 PM.
