Betty Macomber, 94, of Sun City passed away August 13, 2014. Betty was born and grew up in New York City. She graduated from Barnard College with a B.A. in English. After WWII ended, she married and moved to the Philadelphia metropolitan area. She worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant for the founder and then the Managing Partner of Hay Management Consulting for many years as the company grew from a small company to a large global business. She and her second husband, Bill Macomber gardened, travelled and enjoyed the arts and good food. After she was widowed and then retired, she travelled to many places in the U.S as well as Canada, Mexico, the British Isles, Europe, Russia, China, Turkey and Australia. She also enjoyed gardening, cultural activities, keeping up with news and current events as well as playing bridge. She moved to Arizona in 2008 to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, where she continued to enjoy bridge and occasionally going to the symphony and the ballet. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at El Dorado of Sun City, 10330 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ.
