Beatrice Hodson

Beatrice Hodson of Sun City passed away on March 5, 2020. She was born on April 7, 1926 in Clinton, Wisconsin to Otto and Frances Hahn. She was baptized and confirmed in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. She received her bachelor’s degree from Whitewater, Wisconsin State Teachers College and her master’s degree from Northern University in Dekalb, IL. She was a Business Ed teacher for 35 years and a part-time Junior College teacher for 11 years. She spent one school year in Frankfurt, Germany. She taught accounting in a high school where U.S. Army students attended. In 1987 she and her husband moved from Batavia, IL to Sun City and did a great deal of traveling. They enjoyed volunteering at Information and Referral Boswell Hospital Gift Shop and the Lutheran Thrift Shop. For ten years they served as Refreshment Chairmen for the Sun Dial Dance Club. She was a member of P.E.O Chapter CH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2001. She is survived by cousins in Wisconsin and long-time friends Harlene Childress and Ellie Svendsen. In lieu of flowers she requests any donations be made to Hospice of the Valley. Private services will be held at a later date.
