Barbara Louise Sirmans, 76, passed away peacefully in her home on January 17th, 2021 from natural causes in Sun City AZ with her daughter and son by her side. Barbara was born September 17, 1944 in Phoenix, AZ. She is survived by her 2 children, Daughter Shannan Peralta, Son Clifford Sirmans IV and 2 grandkids, Dillon Peralta and Daniel Peralta making 4 generations in AZ. For those who knew her, knew of her passion for all animals which she passed down to all of us. We had an assortment of animals growing up for instance, a Rabbit, Guinea Pigs, an African Gray Parrot, a Raccoon, Parrakeets, a Billy Goat named Leroy, Turtles, and of course many dogs. Then there was a time when I was in grade school can’t remember the year but you know how every little girl wants a pony for her birthday. Well, when I woke up on my birthday, went in the kitchen to get breakfast and all the blinds were closed so I couldn’t see in our back yard. I didn’t really think anything of it and then went back to my room. When I was in my room, I heard this clickety clack noise coming from the window in my room which faced Northern Ave. Again, I just thought that is odd and just went about my day. Well, when mom had everything ready, she called me to come in the kitchen and opened up the blinds, there was my pony. I was so excited and happy, I never asked for one but mom and dad had horses then so that was my birthday present. So, yes, we even had horses. Mom owned her dog and cat grooming shop for many years. I (Shannan) would work there in the Summers bathing the dogs once I was able to reach over the bathing tub. She put me to work every chance she could, and I’m thankful for all she taught me. Once I graduated high school, she graduated me up to be a groomer just like her. She had a very lucrative grooming shop; we all were proud to work there with my mom. Boy the stories that could be told over the years. She loved watching the Diamond Backs, Nascar and Dancing with the Stars, and collecting Hummingbirds, Pewter Dragons and a lot of other nick-nacks. Her witty sense of humor held up to the very end. Every time she was in the hospital, she would always pull pranks on the nurses and I would have to tell them she’s just joking. My mom had a great sense of humor, and was my best friend; we could talk about anything! We didn’t always agree on everything but we were very close so it wouldn’t matter. We would agree to disagree. She would always put a smile on your face when you came to visit her. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. We love you mom and will see you again!!
From our Dear Friend Denise Wincek:
I first met Louise back in the late 70’s. I was referred to her grooming shop (A-OK Dog & Cat Grooming). She was looking for a groomer. Needless to say, we hit it off and I was hired. We worked together for many years even after she sold her shop. I can honestly say she was the BEST employer I ever had. She was a master at grooming. She was physically a very strong woman but gentle, kind, and loving with all animals. She taught me a lot and she made our work days fun. I looked forward to going to work.
I watched as Shannan and Cliff grew up and heard countless funny stories of Beano and the kids. I’ll never forget the story she told about the lunch she packed for Beano when she was upset with him. A Kotex sandwich with ketchup and lettuce. I can still picture his face when he bit into it!!!! She could pull some pranks.
I believe it was in the early 80’s when the CHEEK’s male dancers were coming into the grooming shop. Why? Because Weezie was their seamstress and she was fitting them for their costumes. She had many talents. Never a dull moment around there!!!! We also had many a good time watching them perform at the night club. Weezie knew how to have FUN and she made a lot of friends.
Weezie had a heart of gold for friends and family. I remember her caring for her mother (Emma), her sister (Eddielind), until their passing and stayed a good friend to Boone thru good and bad times until his passing and to so many others. I’ll always remember her warm embrace and how she could always make you laugh no matter what. I’m glad she’s in no more pain and that she’s reunited with all the loved ones she’s lost. I’ll be looking forward to the day we meet again my friend.
With much love,
Denise
From our Dear Friend Audry Beloit:
So many years we have known each other. I remember clearly when we met. It was 67th Ave and Indian School, we both got jobs at Shortstop. Though we weren't there very long we became friends. And that friendship has brought us so far. In those 35 years you were always a person I looked up to. Such a loving person and a great mom. With a huge chunk of wild in ya! You were someone I could count on for advice and ears for just listening if that was needed. As our men would come and go our friendship had stood the test of time. I never imagined life without you in it. Or the loss I would feel with you being gone. You inspired me all the time with your strength. But I was not surprised when you said no more. I didn't blame you in the least. With everything the years had forced on you. You were able to find the strength to say no more. Courage I can only hope I will have when my time is here. So, my friend I say goodbye to you now. I'm sure you are wherever you believed you would be and pain free. Know that you will never be forgotten. However, missed beyond words. I love you very much for you were always the kind of friend that's so hard to come by. Thanks for all the years of being my friend.
Love,
Audrey
