Arthur H. Blonstein died June 16, 2017 at a group home in Surprise, AZ. He was born to Albert and Lillian Blonstein in 1924, the youngest of three sons. Brothers Edward and Clem preceded him in death. Art enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and was trained at the Great Lakes Naval Station to be a Corpsman. For a short time he was attached to the Marines where he served in the Dispensary at the Miramar Marine Corps Station in San Diego, CA. He was then assigned to serve aboard the USS Wisconsin for two years in the Pacific War Theater. After service he married Dorothy Boll in Chicago in 1947. They had four children: Carol Woolery of Sacramento, CA, Lois Blonstein of Sun City West, Robert Blonstein (Diane) of Stover, MO, and Ellen Longabaugh (Mike) of Rolling Meadows, IL. He also is survived by three grandchildren: Keri Woolery, Kristi Woolery, Wendy (Blonstein) Gray and three great-grandchildren. After retiring from a career in purchasing, Art and Dorothy moved from Illinois to Sun City West in 1988. Dorothy preceded Art in death in 2003. Art married Betty Kerker in 2006, and leaves an extended family of step-children and step-grandchildren from this union. A memorial service and interment will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
