Anthony “Tony” Joseph Caminiti, age 70, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 11:14pm at Banner Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale, Arizona with his loving family at his bedside after battling Cancer. He was born on February 5, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Anna Caminiti. Tony was the youngest of 3 children and grew up playing “stickball” and “kick the can” in the streets of his Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn. On June 25, 1967, he married his sweetheart Rose Burriesci, and together they had 2 children before moving to Arizona in 1981. Tony had a passion for photography and built two successful photography businesses between 1975-2012. Cameo Studios, in Scottsdale, AZ was one of his greatest accomplishments, which he owned and operated from 1987-2012. Tony was a school portrait photographer and worked closely with students over the decades who he mentored, shared his love of photography and was a major influence in the lives of many. He had a larger than life personality, and his crazy sense of humor made everybody laugh. Tony was a proud man and worked hard to create a legacy that represented everything that he stood for: family, integrity, strength, honor and leadership! His love for the New York Rangers and Chiefs Hockey made him a legend in the hockey community. Those left to honor Tony are his loving wife of 49 years, Rose Caminiti; devoted daughter, Jennifer Caminiti-Harrison; son-in-law, Sean Harrison; son, Christopher Caminiti; 4 dear and beloved grandchildren, Cameron and Vincent Caminiti and Brittany and Anthony Harrison; sister, Antoinette (Bob) Calleo; brother, Charles Caminiti; a countless number of family and friends and his loyal dogs, Koda, Ranger and Angel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Sheraton Crescent - Phoenix Ballroom - 2620 W. Dunlap Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85021.
