Anne Burris

Anne Katherine Burris, 92 -- dear and beloved matriarch, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many -- passed away February 2, 2011. Anne’s husband of 62 years, Merlyn “Bo” Burris, passed away in 1998. Anne was born and raised in Illinois. She and Bo were married in 1939. She worked as office manager at Burris & Percifieled Insurance Brokerage, and later at a law firm in Danville, Illinos, until she and Bo moved to Sun City, AZ in 1978. In Sun City they became involved in the Sun City Sheriff’s Posse, volunteered in the classroom at a local elementary school, and helped at St. Mary’s Food Bank. Anne and Bo were avid golfers, bridge partners and ballroom dancers. Anne is survived by 2 daughters, Merilyn Wiler and Linda Burris-Hebenstreit, both of Colorado; 5 grandchildren--Jennifer, Christine, Brian, Stephanie and Kathleen; and 2 great-grandchildren, Blake and Reid. We welcome friends to join us in celebrating Anne’s full and blessed life, her remarkable strength, her generous love, and joyful spirit at a reception on Friday, February 18, 2:00-4:00 PM at Menke Funeral home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351.
