Angela Cerato - October 7, 1918 - December 11, 2011

Angela T. Cerato, affectionately known as Angie, was born in Stamford, CT on Oct. 7, 1918. She attended the Fifth District School, a one room schoolhouse on Camp Ave. She attended this school beginning with kindergarten through 6th grade. The family moved to Wallingford, CT. There, she attended Holy Trinity II Roman Catholic School, graduating from the 8th grade. In 1947 she married Charles C. Cerato. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ralph Varketta and four children, Charles L. Cerato of Elmer, NJ, Dr. Louis Mark Cerato of Glendale, AZ, Dr. Thomas William Cerato of Glendale, AZ and Mrs. Lee Shumsky of Egg Harbour Township, NJ. 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Memorial services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 10111 W. Jomax Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383. Donations are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or to Cross of Glory Lutheran Church.
