Alice Townsley

March 26, 1927 — May 13, 2020

Alice N. Townsley; nee:Grupp (Noreen), 93 was peacefully placed in the arms of Jesus on May 13, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 26, 1927, to Alice and Fred Grupp. She was married September 9, 1950 to Kenneth L. Townsley in Cleveland, Ohio. They went on to have 6 children. In 1968 they moved to Streetsboro, Ohio. They were members of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. In 1979 they moved to Arizona. She later relocated to Prescott Valley, AZ where she became a faithful servant of Trinity Lutheran Church, until she returned to Ohio to live with Dawn for 7 years. She was unable to tolerate the cold and returned to Peoria, AZ to live with Debbie. During this time, she became a member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church. She was passionate about sewing in which she would make stuffed animals for the charity Project Linus, as well as lap robes/quilts for the homeless. She also loved to crochet and was an avid reader. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. After her husband passed, she was fortunate enough to take a trip to Italy with a dear friend. She loved to travel to the different states that her children had lived in to visit them before they relocated back to Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Townsley, brother Billy, Mother Alice Grupp, Father Fred Grupp. Noreen is survived by her 6 children; Bill Townsley of Mesa, AZ, Dawn Hutzell Scott (Art) of Aurora, Ohio, Kim Smith (Mark) of Casa Grande, AZ, Carol Kenner (Rick) of Prescott Valley, AZ, Tim Townsley of Mesa, AZ and Debbie Ansingh (Steven) of Peoria, AZ. She has 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Our loss is Heavens gain, and she will be truly missed until we meet again. There will be no calling hours, only a private viewing for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation her favorite charities were St. Judes and the ASPCA or Hospice of the West. Many thanks to Hospice of the West for their exceptional care and understanding.
