Alfred Sillifant

December 31, 1969 — January 2, 2013

86, passed Saturday, December 29th, 2012 at Silver Crown group home in Glendale, Arizona. He leaves his Wife and long time companion of 30 years, Deanna; his sister Grace; 7 children: Kenny, Raymond, Barbara, Karen, Doreen, Teresa and Mario; 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. (A fifth Great Grandchild is due to arrive within the week). Born in Queens, New York, June 29th 1926, the son of George and Gladys Sillifant. Alfred was a WWII Vet and served his country as a Motorcycle MP in France and as a Gunner for the Air Force, 1943-1946. After the Service, Alfred played the Saxaphone for several bands during the “Big Band” era. He then went on to get his degree in Business Administration. He worked for several prestigious companies such as Revere Copper and Brass; Mobil Corporation and Nassau Community College where he served as Budget Director for many years until he retired. He not only took pride in his work but was highly respected and loved by all who came into his life. Alfred had a passion for life where family and friends were cherished and loved. He was deeply involved with Community government and was a strong supporter and voice for the National Rifle Association. He was also a Member of the Masons for over 50 years. His hobbies included Motorcycles, Hunting, Photography and Nature. Alfred and Deanna had property with acreage in up state New York for many years. Many wonderful memories were made during those years. Family was the most important thing in Alfred’s life. His loving and selfless attributes were unparalleled by most but recognized by all. His humor, wit, views on politics, occasional sarcasm, zest for life and loving heart will be dearly missed but remembered. “We will always be a family, no one will ever really part.
