Adele Wallace Haverland

Adele Davis Wallace Haverland died peacefully on January 1, 2011 in Long Beach, California. Adele was born February 1, 2015 in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in nearby Springfield. Adele and her husband, James Duncan Wallace, moved first to South Dakota, then to Lawton, Oklahoma and, finally Phoenix, Arizona, in service of James’ career as an educator. In 1984, Adele moved to Deanne Drive in Sun City, where she happily resided until 2007, when she moved to an assisted living facility in Southern California to be close to her family. Adele will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her for her ever-agile mind, quick sense of humor, bridge skills, and devotion to family. Adele was preceded in death by her husband, James; her second husband, Fred Haverland; and her daughter, Barbara Wallace. Adele is survived by her son, James Davis Wallace, and his wife, Alana; four grandchildren and one great grandson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N 103rd Ave., Sun City, Arizona. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 11025 N. 111th Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351, where she was a happy parishioner for many years.
